Antonio J. Gayoso, M.D.

Dr. Gayoso is a native Floridian,  born in Gainesville, Florida.  He completed his undergraduate education at Duke University and the University of Florida. His medical degree was completed at the University of Miami, in Miami, Florida and his surgical training was completed at the Medical University of South Carolina, both in general surgery and plastic surgery.

Dr. Gayoso is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.  Dr. Gayoso was Chief of Plastic Surgery at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg 2005 thru 2018 and in December 2019, he was reappointed as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Bayfront Health St Petersburg until June 2021. He was Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Anthony’s Hospital from 2004 thru 2018. He is a member of The Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons and is a past president of the Tampa Bay Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Gayoso established his plastic surgery practice in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1998. He has participated in Faith In Practice, an international goodwill mission providing plastic and reconstructive surgical care in Guatemala and spent many years providing breast reconstructive surgery for breast cancer patients. He has been on the Local Board for the American Cancer Society and participates in My Hope Chest, a local charitable organization that provides breast reconstructive surgery for women without health insurance.
