The Procedure Process
Initial Consultation
Your FSPS plastic surgeon will evaluate your lip anatomy, discuss your concerns, and review treatment options—including fillers, fat grafting, surgical lift, and laser therapy. Together, you’ll choose the best approach for your needs.
Treatment Day
Many lip procedures are performed in the office with topical numbing or local anesthesia. Fillers and laser resurfacing are typically quick and require minimal downtime. Fat transfer or a lip lift may be done in a surgical setting, often under local anesthesia.
Aftercare
Swelling and bruising are common after fillers or fat transfer but usually resolve within a few days to a week. Laser-treated areas may feel warm and appear pink or flaky for a few days. Surgical lifts require a short recovery period with sutures removed in about a week.
Recovery and Results
Recovery depends on the treatment selected, but most patients return to normal activity within a few days. Results may be seen immediately with fillers and fat transfer, and improve over time with laser and surgical techniques. Longevity varies—fillers typically last 6–12 months, while fat transfer and lip lifts provide longer-lasting outcomes.
