Edgar Sosa, M.D.

Dr. Edgar T. Sosa was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Along with his family, he immigrated to the United States via New York City in 1990. Subsequently, he moved to the Central Florida area at a young age. He attended Oviedo High School were he played football and was part of the Olympic Weightlifting Team.

He attended the University of Central Florida, where he pursued undergraduate studies in Molecular and Micro Biology as well as Psychology. After completion at the University of Central Florida, he moved to Southern Maine to attend the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Following completion of medical school, Dr. Sosa moved to Western Massachusetts, where at Berkshire Medical Center he completed an internship in internal medicine (AOA Rotating Internship) as well as general surgery training.

During his general surgery, Dr. Sosa made time for multiple medical missions. These missions often taking him to distant areas of need. He has spent time in the Amazon, Dominican Republic, South Sudan, Kenya, Morocco and the Indian Himalayas. As a consequence of his medical missions, he developed a passion for reconstructive surgery.

It was during this time, that his desire to pursue plastic surgery evolved. He then went on to the prestigious Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in the greater Boston area. There he trained with world renowned plastic surgeons as well as spending time at Boston Children’s Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Emerson Hospital and Maine Medical Center.

As his time drew near in New England, he found himself with the desire to return to the Central Florida area. He is excited to bring his knowledge to provide individualized plastic and reconstructive surgery to the Central Florida community.
